What We Offer

Golden Plastics offers heavy-gauge, cut-sheet thermoforming, part and tooling design, and in-house quality control to produce high quality components for a wide range of industries. Utilizing a host of different forming techniques, we can produce parts up to 6 feet long and up to 5 feet wide.

We work in a variety of plastics including ABS, acrylic, styrene, PETG, polyethylene and polypropylene and can accommodate starting thicknesses from .060" to .5".

Initial Steps

The first step is determining whether thermoforming is the right solution for your project. Next, we decide what material, which technique, and what secondary work would be best suited for your application. After gathering all necessary information, we build a quote for you. Once approved, we work closely with you to design your part. We can work from existing parts, sketches, drawings, CAD files, or solid models. As soon as the design is finalized, we can begin the work for tooling.

Tooling

Using a solid model created in SolidWorks, we will either outsource the creation of a temperature-controlled aluminum mold, or machine a mold in-house, depending on the what your specific part requires. If applicable, a matching CNC trim fixture will be machined in-house to ensure consistent and accurate alignment of the formed parts during the trim process. A custom trim path will be generated for use with our CNC routers. After the mold is built, a first article will be formed and trimmed. This part is inspected for dimensional accuracy, form, function, fit and overall appearance. Upon customer approval, a production run can then begin. Typical lead time from design finalization to delivery of the first article is 4-8 weeks.

Quality Control

A complete and continuous inspection process throughout ensures that we are providing high quality products. Quality control begins when the material for your project arrives and continues thru the forming process, trim process, assembly and packaging. Material and parts are inspected throughout the manufacturing process to ensure that quality parts are the standard. Golden Plastics can implement a custom, part-specific inspection routine with documentation as per your needs.
